Rala Tarabishi

Rala Tarabishi is a Syrian visual artist, born and based in Damascus, Syria. She graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts with a specialization in oil painting. Her artistic practice encompasses a diverse range of media, including painting, sculpture, and installation art.

Her work delves into the complexities of human emotions and explores their reflections in nature, creating evocative visual narratives that stir emotions and encourage contemplation.

Rala participated in the Syrian Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai and has exhibited her work locally, notably in the Path exhibition in April 2025. Through her artistic approach, she seeks to evoke an emotional resonance and foster a deeper understanding of the shared human experience. In her works, she continually strives to embody human emotions, whether through scenes from nature or through encounters with figures, in order to tell a story.

Rala Tarabishi works across oils, acrylics, watercolour and mixed media, choosing each material for the idea or emotion at hand, whether that calls for detailed realism or expressive brushwork. The range keeps her work vibrant and opens a wide spectrum of visual and emotional possibilities.

Her aim is to connect the viewer to the natural world, revealing the relationship between human emotion and the elemental forces of nature.
