Foaad Khattar

An artist whose practice centers on photography, sculpture, and installation art. Developing my skills through experimentation and conceptual research My work reflects an ongoing process of learning and material investigation, supported by participation in workshops, exhibitions, and collaborative artistic initiatives

The works presented by Fouad at Art week syria’s first edition revolve around a powerful visual metaphor: the boat. While revisiting his papers, he rediscovered this form — a symbol that reflects his own state, at once simple and complex. In his interpretation, the boat carries the weight of the journey and its obstacles, enduring salt, wind, and thorns. Yet despite everything, it persists, rising toward the sky or beginning a new story. This imagery becomes a lens through which Fouad explores resilience, transformation, and the continuous negotiation between fragility and endurance.

Fouad’s artistic practice is rooted in translating personal experience into universal symbols. His work often draws on everyday objects and forms, reimagined to express emotional states and inner transitions. Through a refined visual language, he creates scenes that speak to the human condition — its burdens, its hopes, and its capacity to move forward despite hardship. His art invites viewers to contemplate their own journeys, finding in his compositions a quiet strength and a poetic sense of renewal.
